John S. Orscheln

President/Owner

 

Executive Summary:

John has over 10 years of experience as an Admissions Officer at Wentworth Military Academy and Commandant of the Junior School at Missouri Military Academy. Since 1999, John has been building Fresh Ideas Management through

his entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be the supplier of choice in the food service industry. With the support of Orscheln Industries, his company has numerous financial and administrative resources to help excel in the area of client satisfaction. John served on active duty in the United States Army for six years.

 

Management Responsibilities:

Mr. Orscheln oversees divisional operations including sales and marketing, and the cultural development of the organization. He is responsible for treasury management, leadership development, corporate integrity and community service activities.

 

Education:

John earned his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Columbia College in 1989 and received his Associates of Arts Degree from Moberly Area Community College. Since the opening of Fresh Ideas Management, John has received numerous training certificates in the area of food preparation, HACCP documentation, Serve Safe Certification.

 
 

Matthew E. Clervi

Vice President, Operations/Owner

 

Executive Summary:

Matt Clervi has more than twenty years of success in the food service industry. His diverse experience in all types of cuisine—from American continental to Mediterranean and French—enables him to develop menus that appeal to all 

appetites. Mr. Clervi developed his forte for four-star cooking during his apprenticeship with Chef Andre`- Tores`, and worked in the hotel business and at fine dining restaurants perfecting his skills.

 

Management Responsibilities:

As Vice President of Operations, Matt is responsible for all unit operations. This includes high levels of customer satisfaction, resource management, and employee satisfaction. Matt is also responsible for unit profitability, cost management, and purchasing standards company wide.

 

Education:

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Columbia College.

Mr. Clervi became proficient in account design, development, recruiting and sales during his 12 year tenure in college food service management and currently works with clients to develop customized programs to meet and exceed discriminating needs.

 
 

Robert C. Barnes

Vice President, Corporate Development

 

Executive Summary:

Bob has over 25 years of experience in field operations, general corporate management and executive level responsibilities with International Paper Company, Weyerhaeuser, and Boise Cascade Corporation. Prior to

Fresh Ideas, Bob was owner and President of BCN Management Consulting in St. Louis. He served in the United States Marine Corps and also attended training at the US Army War College on National Security. Bob has always been active in community affairs. His interest is in youth development serving on numerous boards, including the Boy Scouts of America, Boys & Girls Club, Junior Achievement, and The III Century Education Foundation.

 

Management Responsibilities:

At Fresh Ideas, Bob is responsible for Policy Development and Human Resource Administration. He develops management systems in employee satisfaction, resource management, customer satisfaction, and leadership development. He also leads the process in corporate strategic planning, management by objective goal setting, and the implementation of Total Quality Control Systems.

 

Education:

Bob graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a major in economics. He completed graduate studies at Northwestern and Harvard Universities. He has been a graduate instructor at Portland State University in Oregon and also completed a Japanese Study Mission in Tokyo, Japan on process management systems. He received his Serve Safe Certification in 2004.

 
 

Debra L. Fox, PHR

Human Resources

 

Executive Summary:

Debra has over 20 years of experience in the Human Resources field and has been employed as HR Manager, HR Specialist, Benefits Specialist, HR Administrator, Executive Assistant and Corporate Trainer. Prior to her employment

with Fresh Ideas, she worked at Moresource, Watlow Electric, Dollar General Corporation and at the University of Missouri as the IT Staff Relations and Development Manager.

 

Management Responsibilities:

At Fresh Ideas, Debra is responsible for directing and developing all Human Resource policies and procedures in the areas of employee benefits, employee handbook administration and services, employee training and development, salary administration and unemployment compensation.

 

Education:

Debra graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from William Woods University with an emphasis in Human Resources Management. She also received an Associate of Arts degree from William Woods. She is currently certified as a PHR (Professional of Human Resources), and a Notary Public. For her continuous community involvement, Debra was voted Governor of the Oklahoma Jr. Chamber of Commerce which is a lifetime title.
