MEET THE LEADERS
Executive Summary:
John has over 10 years of experience as an Admissions Officer at Wentworth Military Academy and Commandant of the Junior School at Missouri Military Academy. Since 1999, John has been building Fresh Ideas management through his entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be the supplier of choice in the food service industry. With the support of Orscheln Industries, his company has numerous financial and administrative resources to help excel in the area of client satisfaction. John served on active duty in the United States Army for six years.
Management Responsibilities:
As CEO, Mr. Orscheln oversees all operations for Fresh Ideas and its affiliated companies.
Education:
John earned his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Columbia College in 1989 and received his Associates of Arts Degree from Moberly Area Community College. Since the opening of Fresh Ideas Management, John has received numerous training certificates in the area of food preparation, HACCP documentation, Serve Safe Certification.
Executive Summary:
Matt Clervi has more than twenty years of success in the food service industry. His diverse experience in all types of cuisine - from American continental to Mediterranean and French - enables him to develop menus that appeal to all appetites. Mr. Clervi developed his forte for four-star cooking during his apprenticeship with Chef Andre`- Tores`, and worked in the hotel business and at fine dining restaurants perfecting his skills.
Management Responsibilities:
As Executive Vice President, Matt is responsible for directing, coordinating and executing company sales and marketing functions. He plays a large role in the cultivation and development of new Fresh Ideas clients.
Education:
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Columbia College. Mr. Clervi became proficient in account design, development, recruiting and sales during his 12 year tenure in college food service management and currently works with clients to develop customized programs to meet and exceed discriminating needs.
Executive Summary:
Dennis has over 30 years of experience in the Food Service Industry, serving as a Food Service Director and District Manager for several contract food management companies throughout the Midwest. In addition, he is an active member of his local community, with service as a Rotary Club member, Bolivar School Board President, and Board Member for Thirtieth Circuit Youth Services, Inc.
Management Responsibilities:
As Vice President of Operations, Dennis is responsible for all unit operations. This includes high levels of customer satisfaction, resource management, and employee satisfaction. Dennis is also responsible for company-wide unit profitability, cost management, and purchasing standards.
Education:
Dennis earned his Bachelors Degree from Southwest Baptist University. He is the recipient of numerous training certificates and recognitions in both the food service industry and his local community.
Executive Summary:
Kate has over 14 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to Fresh Ideas, Kate was a partner of Landers, Weiss & Co. CPA firm in Columbia, Missouri and served clients in various industries including construction, manufacturing and food service management. Other previous employers have included Williams-Keepers and Arthur Andersen. Kate has been involved in many community activities, previously serving on the board of the Hallsville Optimist Club and fund raising efforts for Hallsville Schools. She continues to participate in the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and serves on the steering committee for the Women’s Network, a division of the chamber.
Management Responsibilities:
At Fresh Ideas, Kate is responsible for all financial procedures including accounting functions, treasury management, capital expenditures and corporate budgeting. Kate oversees all corporate administrative activities and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
Education:
Kate graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. During undergraduate work, Kate spent six months studying at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale's branch campus in Nakajo, Japan and earned a minor in Japanese language. Kate is a member of the AICPA and MSCPA professional accounting associations. In addition, she completes continuing education courses each year to maintain her certified public accountant (CPA) license designated by the Missouri State Board of Accountancy.
